The APS Microinverter brings a new face to solar technology, making your solar harvesting array more powerful, economical, dependable, intelligent and safe. Conventional residential solar power systems typically have only one inverter serving an entire solar array, causing the array to produce only as well as the lowest-performing module, which can cause decreased efficiency and completely eliminates important information about individual PV module performance. An APS Microinverter is bolted to the back of each module (or a set of two modules), replacing the central inverter, which allows each module or set of two modules to operate independently for increased energy production. The SolarEdge DC-AC PV inverter is specifically designed to work with the SolarEdge power optimizers. Because MPPT and voltage management are handled separately for each module by the power optimizer, the inverter is only responsible for DC to AC inversion. Consequently, it is a less complicated, more cost effective, more reliable solar inverter with a standard 12 year warranty, extendable to 20 or 25 years. The fixed string voltage ensures operation at the highest efficiency at all times (>97% weighted efficiency) independent of string length and temperature.
